Seniors Housing

The Newell Foundation provides quality, affordable and safe homes in a supportive environment to meet the needs of senior life. 

Senior Citizens Housing provides rooms, meals, housekeeping services and recreational opportunities for independent seniors. Home Care personnel are available to provide assistance with medications, bathing, and other care needs as assessed. Various activities such as exercises, entertainment, and socials are scheduled daily for those who wish to participate.The program is funded in part by the payment of rent by residents, and in part by provincial government subsidies. 

Eligibility 

Housing for seniors who are able to live independently with or without the assistance of community-based services.

Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident aged 65 years of age or older.

Once deemed eligible, placement is determined by need rather than date of application.

Newbrook Lodge

Brooks, Alberta

Newbrook Lodge is a three-story building with 148 suites including a mix of studio, one, and two bedroom units, built around a central courtyard. Home Care personnel are available, 24-hour monitored medical alert bracelets, meals, exercise classes, entertainment, and socials. 

Playfair Lodge

Bassano, Alberta

 Playfair Lodge provides housekeeping service, full meal service, laundry service, basic room furnishings, building security, 24-hour non-medical staffing and opportunities for socializing. This facility is a one level building with 32 units.
